Cups, Bowls, Plates
Jeanette Monahan
One of the things I enjoy most about participating in the various Bowls is the chance to play new and unfamiliar courses. Each one presents its own unique challenges, and sometimes you come away appreciating just how lucky we are at Curlewis. All clubs really welcome and value the support they get from others around the district.
Thanks for keeping me up to speed with teams you have put together, and thanks also for making use of our timesheet to do just that. Don’t forget, I would love to hear back about your experiences out there. Any little bit of info reflecting on your day, or even a photo, would be most welcome – and a great addition to this regular report.
There has been, and still is, a bit to do across February, with a number of clubs hosting special events. It’s a bit quieter during March, but still some to look forward to.

As well as our SWGA Bowls, occasionally I receive notification of others a little further afield.
This week, two teams from Curlewis have been “on tour”, making the trek down to Warrnambool for the Marjorie Robinson Bowl. They have definitely packed in plenty of golf across this (I hope not too gruelling) 2-day event. I know they were looking forward to it, I’m sure they had a great time, and hopefully enjoyed some success.
Others I can share with you include:
1. Ballarat GC’s Begonia Bowl, which is scheduled for Monday, March 3rd.
2. Naracoorte GC’s Mary Cudmore Bowl, Wednesday and Thursday, March 5th & 6th.
3. Port Fairy GC’s Jean Whitehead Bowl on Thursday, March 20.
If you are looking for a short getaway, and any of these are of interest to you, I have the entry forms. Just let me know.
Enough for now.
Happy hitting!
