Division 2 played Portarlington at 13th Beach, playing on The Creek course. With a couple of regular players unavailable Wayne Marendaz and Tom Dunkin moved up to the division 2 team. We went down 6/1, with our only win coming from Wayne, a very solid 5/4 result. Several matches were tight, but a few chip-ins and long putts saw us end up on the wrong side of the result.
To make the final we need two big wins and for a result or 2 to go our way. Next round is after Easter against Anglesea at Lonsdale.
Division 3 played Geelong at Clifton Springs, with Ziggy Witcombe coming into the team. Unfortunately we went down 5 ½ to 1 ½ for our first loss for the season. Marty Chaffey continued his good form with a win and Eric Fleming held on for a ½.
After Easter we play Barwon Valley at Torquay in a pivotal match for the season.
Both teams should be at full strength so we are looking forward to a couple of big weeks.
