Following significant improvements over the last two years, Golf Victoria recently undertook a re-rating of our course.
As a result, there are new scratch and slope ratings, effective from this Monday, January 15.
It is important that all golfers review the new ratings, as your handicap may have changed.

Communication from Golf Victoria
“With regard to the changes to your course rating, I can confirm that the areas that had the most impact were bunker depth and the percentage the bunkers surrounded the green.
We also made changes to the wind factor from Bureau of Meteorology records.
Having said that, I should give you an example of how a slight change (0.9) to the differential between the scratch rating and the bogey rating, impacts on the slope rating.
- The definition of a scratch player is that they are a person who plays to a handicap of zero and for rating purposes hits a tee shot of 229 metres for males and 192 metres for females.
- The definition of a bogey player is one who plays off a handicap of approximately 20, (24 for females) and hits a tee shot of 183 metres for males and 137 metres for females.
The recent changes to the course impact the bogey player more, especially on the longer holes.
Please understand that the rating system is extremely complex and that only a mathematician would be able to explain the formulas used.
The multiplier 5.381 Is just one example of this.
Women’s differentials are multiplied by 4.24.
